2017 NEED Year in Review

THE NEED MISSION

HOME

The mission of The NEED Project is to promote an energy conscious and educated society by creating effective networks of students, educators, business, government and community leaders to design and deliver objective, multi-sided energy education programs. NEED works with energy companies, agencies and organizations to bring balanced energy programs to the nation’s schools with a focus on strong teacher professional development, timely and balanced curriculum materials, signature program capabilities and turn-key program management.

LETTER FROM THE CHAIRMAN

2017 has been a successful and productive year thanks to all of our students, educators, business and community leaders. NEED continues to deliver valuable energy programs to our schools that enable students, teachers and the public to understand all forms of energy. The energy industry values NEED’s comprehensive and objective programs.

We are a national leader in energy due to the dedication and commitment of NEED’s staff, educators and students in carrying out our mission. It was the efforts of the NEED team that made this past year a success. This team effort was exemplified through this year’s NEED Youth Energy Conference and Awards event. Working together, the NEED team created this highly anticipated event to enhance training opportunities for teachers, career development for students and interaction with parents. The result was a well-attended and highly rated event. Continuous improvement was also evident in the NEED Energy Conference for Educators and in our training programs nationwide. Collaboration, hard work, and a passion for energy education and student leadership makes our organization stand out for exceptional support of teachers and students.

On behalf of the entire Board of Directors, thank you for your outstanding efforts this past year on behalf of the National Energy Education Development Project . It is an honor and pleasure to work with our extended NEED family on energy education matters. We are looking forward to an exciting year ahead.
