Energy From Uranium  (e-publication)

Through background information and hands-on activities, students will learn the chemistry and physics of the uranium atom, the process of fission, the history of nuclear energy, and its role in producing electricity. A culminating assignment at the close of the unit has students researching and preparing for a mock Nuclear Regulatory Commission hearing regarding the building of a new nuclear reactor. The guides each contain detailed teacher guides and reproducible masters.
