ABOUT THE SPONSOR
COASTAL VIRGINIA OFFSHORE WIND
Dominion Energy’s dedication to clean energy is demonstrated through renewable energy initiatives such as the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) project. The two wind turbines currently in operation 27 miles off the coast of Virginia Beach are the first installed in U.S. federal waters and the first owned by an electric utility. At peak output, they power up to 3,000 homes and are avoiding up to 25,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually.
The CVOW project is a substantial contributor to helping meet the goals of the Virginia Clean Economy Act which requires carbon-free electric generation by 2045. When fully constructed in 2026, the CVOW project will deliver clean, renewable energy to up to 660,000 customers and will avoid millions of tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually.
CVOW will deliver what our customers want and what the planet needs: clean, reliable, affordable energy.
