ABOUT THE SPONSOR
The mission of the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet is to provide regulatory guidance, environmental awareness, and implement an energy strategy that will bring economic benefits to the Commonwealth while protecting the environment and improving the quality of life for Kentucky businesses, workers and the public in general. The Energy and Environment Cabinet and the Office of Energy Policy(OEP) seek to achieve energy and environmental outcomes that are fair, robust, and balanced.
The Office of Energy Policy strives toward equity and environmental justice through policies and programs that are fair, neither showing favoritism nor being discriminatory. In partnership with the National Energy Education Development (NEED) Project, this year’s Energy Education Project provides project activities to meaningfully engage with vulnerable populations or with those populations that may be experiencing disproportionate impacts from energy and environmental activities. The energy education project is funded through a grant awarded through Kentucky’s State Energy Program.
