9:00 a.m. Welcome and Introduction to the PEEP 2.0 Program
9:15 a.m. Review of Kit Opportunities
Take a quick look through the kits available for PEEP participants. Discuss activities, leveling, and adaptations for virtual settings.
10:00 a.m. Solar in Depth
Explore the fastest growing renewable energy source. These activities will allow those with some solar background to make the most of their kits, exploring the photoelectric effect, circuits, and figuring out what a solar panel can power. Take a look at the kit materials and discuss student energy team opportunities.
11:30 a.m. Energy Careers Exploration
Get hands on with energy careers activities in the classroom!
12:00 p.m. Lunch & Speaker – Energy Careers and The Future Workforce!
12:45 p.m. The Electric Grid, Demand Management, & Storage
Check out a fun, interactive (virtual or in-person) activity for showcasing grid stability, energy trading & demand management. Baseload Balance can be completed in two formats, and is a great introduction to bringing storage into the grid!
1:30 p.m. Climate Science & Society
You’ve seen some of our climate activities before. Can I Really Fry an Egg on the Sidewalk & Heat Islands will help your students connect the dots between energy, energy conservation, climate, and people! Road Trip will help students consider their own impacts as they get on the road.
2:45 p.m. The Exelon Challenge
2:50 p.m. Wrap-Up, Act 48 Credit, Evaluation and Kit Request
