Open to Atlanta area educators only. All attendees are expected to attend in person after school on October 21st.

ABOUT CLEAN CURRENTS

Clean Currents 2021 is the all-new, official waterpower tradeshow + conference of the National Hydropower Association—promoted by North American waterpower to benefit the industry. Conventional hydropower, pumped storage, small hydro and marine energy are already flexible and renewable clean energy sources. Clean Currents will showcase innovative solutions, thought leadership and exclusive educational opportunities to ensure that the advantages of hydropower remain relevant long into the future.

9:15 a.m.        Energy Sources 101

Learn about our 10 energy sources, how we use them nationally for electricity production with Electric Connections and Candy Collector activities.

10:00 a.m.      Introduction to Hydropower 101

  • Moving Water Can Do Work

10:45 a.m.      Quick Break

11:00 a.m.      Hydropower for the CTE Classroom

  • Exploring Gear Ratios

11:30 a.m.      Break for lunch and gather supplies for afternoon activities

12:00 p.m.      Hydropower for the CTE Classroom

  • Hydropower Generator Model

1:00 p.m.        Careers in Hydropower

Exploring careers in the Hydropower industry with the Hydropower Careers in the Round activity.  Play Hydro Industry Bingo to learn about careers in hydropower.

2:00 p.m.        Wrap Up, Posttest, Information on Thursday’s activities

2:15 p.m.        Adjourn

Thursday, October 21 (In Person)

4:30 pm          Check in for Educator Tour

Able to arrive earlier?  For educators that finish school earlier in the day, Educator Check In will be available starting at 3:00 pm.  You are welcome to arrive early and enjoy the Concurrent Educational Sessions at 3:15 pm.

4:45 pm          Hydro Think Tank

Educators will start their visit learning about the Hydro Think Tank and viewing projects created by university students.

5:00 pm          Guided Tour of CC Central

Educators will be guided through exhibits to visit companies in the Hydropower Industry.

5:30 pm          Explore CC Central on your own

Educators are invited to explore CC Central on their own and complete a Careers In Hydropower Scavenger Hunt to the chance to win a prize.

6:30 pm          CC Central Closes
