Energy Education Workshops

The NEED Project works with local and national sponsors to provide professional development opportunities across the country. Now offering live online virtual energy education workshops! Our virtual workshops are inspired by the same mission and goals as our in-person trainings.  These interactive workshops are designed to improve one’s own energy knowledge as a consumer, to provide hands-on lessons and activities, and to learn new strategies to engage students in a distance learning environment by sharing hints, tips and tools for teaching in today’s classroom. Conference Sessions

NEED hosts sessions at many state, regional, and national science teacher conventions and conferences. View upcoming conferences.

National Energy Conference for Educators

Each summer, NEED conducts a five-day conference for educators — teaching about energy and how to implement NEED programs in the classroom. Scholarships are available for classroom teachers. Graduate credit is also available for teachers participating in the program (additional cost). Registration fee includes lodging (double occupancy), most meals, and materials. Hosting a NEED Workshop

NEED provides workshops for specific areas of interest for schools, STEM organizations, professional societies, and utility providers.  If you are interested in partnering on workshops in your area or at your school district, be it in-person or in a virtual setting, contact NEED at info@need.org.  NEED works with each partner to customize training to fit the program needs. Learn more about partnering with NEED to create a custom workshop for your teachers.
