You are invited to the eesmarts™ Summer Institute for Teachers. Teachers may choose to attend both days or one day. Agendas have been designed to cover forms of energy, sources of energy, natural gas, electricity, climate change, energy efficiency and energy careers. Join us for an engaging summer experience.

8:30 a.m. Welcome and Introductions
Meet your fellow participants and the sponsors of today’s workshop. Review goals and objectives for the workshop and begin planning ways to use the NEED materials and training in your school. Take a short pre-assessment.
9:00 a.m. The Science of Energy
Learn more about the forms of energy while experimenting with the NEED Project’s Science of Energy kit. Kits will be provided to participating educators.
10:30 a.m. Forms and Sources: Connecticut Electric and Energy Connections
After learning about the forms of energy, discover how the different energy sources contribute to the generation of electricity in Connecticut. Check out the Connecticut numbers for all energy used.

This activity will help with the understanding of energy efficiency of different kinds of transportation and list the benefits of carpooling.
