You are invited to the eesmarts™ Summer Institute for Teachers. Teachers may choose to attend both days or one day. Agendas have been designed to cover forms of energy, sources of energy, natural gas, electricity, climate change, energy efficiency and energy careers. Join us for an engaging summer experience.

- Choice of a NEED Energy Management kit
- $150 Stipend per day

8:30 a.m. Welcome and Introductions
Meet your fellow participants and the sponsors of today’s workshop. Review goals and objectives for the workshop and begin planning ways to use the NEED materials and training in your school. Take a short pre-assessment.
9:00 a.m. The Science of Energy
Learn more about the forms of energy while experimenting with the NEED Project’s Science of Energy kit. Kits will be provided to participating educators.
10:30 a.m. Energy Round Up
This activity will introduce teachers to the leading sources of energy.
11:00 a.m. Sidekick Circuits
This activity will show a fun way to learn about simple and parallel circuits
11:30 a.m. Lunch
12:15 p.m. Energy Efficiency and Conservation
Learn about efficiency, conservation, and exploring energy use at home and at school with an introduction to the tools provided in the NEED Efficiency and Conservation kits. Build and Energy House.
1:45 p.m. Climate Science
Learn about climate and climate science while exploring Greenhouse in a Beaker and Climate Web Activity.
2:45 p.m. Q&A, Post Assessment and Evaluations
Evaluations and post assessment!
