8:00 a.m. Register, breakfast, and paperwork
Take a quick pre-workshop assessment and meet fellow attendees.
8:15 a.m. Welcome & PEEP 2.0 Program Review
Get a rundown on all PEEP offerings, learn about the curriculum, and play a fun energy game.
8:45 a.m. Review of Kit Opportunities
Participate in a fun energy-source themed challenge for prizes. Review the kits available for PEEP participants. Discuss activities, leveling, and adaptations in a community format.
9:45 a.m. Energy Beach Balls
This activity gives practice for defining and describing energy vocabulary. It is written for energy forms or energy sources but can be easily modified to suit any topic area. It can be an excellent get-to-know you activity and also a great formative assessment tool to review before a new unit or an exam.
10:15 a.m. Pipeline Push Natural Gas and Petroleum
This activity will demonstrate how natural gas and petroleum is moved through the pipeline system during processing.
11:00 a.m. Exploring Nuclear Energy

• Fuel Rod Assembly Activities
12:00 p.m. Lunch
12:45 p.m. Ice Cube Tray Battery
Build a functional battery using electrolytes, copper, and zinc that lights an LED and measure the voltage and current of their battery cells.
1:30 p.m. Climate and Carbon Fun
• Calcium Carbonate Precipitation
• Climate Change and Sea Life
2:15 p.m. Careers Enigma
Put on your detective hats and research clues to uncover career facts. This cooperative learning activity accesses Language Arts and critical thinking skills, as students attempt to conceal their own career while guessing the opposing teams’ careers.
2:50 p.m. Wrap-Up, Act 48 Credit, Evaluation and Kit Request
